Mary Ellen Shackelford, 85, of Olmstead, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. She was born in Sparta, Tenn. on May 8, 1934 to the late Dewey Rice and Ola Harness Rice. She was a homemaker and former member of the Eastern Star and an active member at Dripping Spring Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jim Shackelford; her son, Timmy Shackelford and wife Susan of Bowling Green; her daughters, Toni Ellen Neal of Auburn and Tammy Kaye Pedigo and husband Jeff of Olmstead; her brothers, Denver Rice of Madison and Bob Rice of Sparta, Tenn.; her sisters, Sue Perkins of Baxter, Tenn., Reba Davis of Murfreesboro and Barbara Allen of Cookeville; eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mary Ellen Shackelford will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Noffsinger and Bro. Donnie Blick officiating with burial to follow in Dripping Spring Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Wednesday, May 15, from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the service hour.
Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children Medical Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Pallbearers: Tristan Norris, Auston Norris, Dustin Norris, Bradley White, O’Brien Pedigo, Cody Pedigo and Kyle Pedigo
