SKYCTC to host free workshops to help students apply for financial aid

Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) will host Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Workshops on March 16 and March 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day at the college’s main campus at 1845 Loop Drive, Bowling Green, KY in building L.

"Our focus is to provide our current and prospective students with the help they need to fill out their FAFSA," said Brooke Justice, Vice President of Student Services. "We want them to understand the many financial resources that are available. We can walk them through the steps to apply for assistance and complete their college education at SKYCTC debt-free."

In order to maintain social distancing requirements, students are required to sign up for FAFSA Workshops in advance with a maximum of 15 individuals in 30-minute blocks. Masks are required. The links to register are:

Financial aid and scholarships are available for those who qualify. Scholarship opportunities include the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship, a program that pays tuition for up to 60 credit hours for Kentuckians in the following high wage, high demand career sectors:  healthcare, advanced manufacturing, construction/trades, IT/business, and logistics. Students can earn certificates in these fields in as little as four months.
