The Concerned Citizens of Logan County will conduct the group’s annual December to Remember beginning this weekend.
In collaboration with Wal-Mart and Ski Daddy’s, Concerned Citizens will allow parents to shop for their children for free one day and then the kids shop for their parents the next day. Ski Daddy’s owners, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Jackson, have closed their Russellville location but continue to provide financial support for Concerned Citizens events designed to help families in need. Wal-Mart donates new clothes and toys throughout the year, and Concerned Citizens saves many of those items for the Christmas season.
" December To Remember " will be Friday, Dec. 9, and the next day. One parent will be allowed to shop free for each child, beginning at 10 a.m. Any parent who shops for more than one child must present proof that the child resides in that home. Acceptable ID’s would be a Social Security card, food stamp letter or any government issued ID.
Upon arrival, parents should remain in their vehicle until instructed to come in to shop. Parents must have proof that the child resides with them. No exceptions .
Then on Saturday, children in grades one through twelve will be able to shop for free for gifts they can give their parents, also beginning at 10.
The Concerned Citizens facility is located at 428 East Fifth Street in Russellville, long known as the KP Hal.
