Do you have special memories of Christmases Gone By in Russellville/Logan County? How about sharing them with the readers of The Logan Journal?

You could talk about family traditions, decorations, church services, music, school events, movies, and/or shopping. At what stores do you remember shopping? What do you miss most?

You can write a Guest Article of your own, or just submit a few sentences of paragraphs that could be part of a composite article.

We did lots of Christmas articles in the early years of The LoJo;s existence. At our ninth Christmas as a publication in 2017, I did an overview of the holiday articles which had been part of our offerings.

Among those who had contributed to our Christmas articles, alphabetically, were:

Jeannie Leedom Bowles, Dorris Burchett, Laura Nealy Burks, Joan Dodson, F. Marie Foley, Mary Lucy Franklin, Sonny Green, Fadocia Annette Nole Hall,  Vicky Populorum Lyons, Bob Owen, Suzi Burgher Payne, Dianna Penrod, Missy Maxwell Perry, Andy Mac Rector, Bobbie Sue Silvey, Al Smith, Algie Ray Smith, Jill White Steward, Rita Stratton, Nelson Weaver and Rob Williams.

You can read that 2017 summary of Christmas articles at http://www.theloganjournal.com/Stories.aspx?Article=features684&Search=Cheapskate

In 2018, in addition to another story by Algie Ray Smith, Jasmaine Loving wrote about fellow Russellville High School student Jayden Hammer helping teacher Bethanie Hargett-Slack build a Christmas tree using books. Read about that at http://www.theloganjournal.com/Stories.aspx?Article=features798

Smith’s 2020 contribution, “The Chair—A Logan County Christmas Story,” can be read at http://www.theloganjournal.com/Stories.aspx?Article=guests676

If you would like to contribute to this effort, please send you writing and/or maybe some pictures to jimturner@loganjournal.com or message The Logan Journal Facebook page. Please do so by Sunday, Dec. 22.
