Simpson County Schools Superintendent Tim Schlosser has announced the naming of Logan County High School graduate Natalie Miles McCutchen as the new principal of Lincoln Elementary.

“With 20+ years in education and a strong commitment to our schools, she’s ready to lead LES into the 25-26 school year,” the announcement said.

Currently the assistant principal at Lincoln Elementary, she and husband Charles “Mac’ McCutchen III have a daughter, Natalya McCutchen, and two younger sons.

Natalie and her sister, Paula Miles Washington, played basketball for the Lady Cougars. Their mother, Janet Miles, was a well-known teacher at Olmstead School.

Natalie McCutchen wrote the following about her new role:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11

“I am so incredibly pleased to announce that I will be the next Principal of Lincoln Elementary School! I have no doubt this is exactly where God wants me to be in this exact moment and time.

“It’s hard to put into words the emotions I feel right now but just a few are humbled, honored, and grateful!! It feels simultaneously unreal and completely natural to be the next principal of LES!

“I came to LES five years ago unsure of the future or what was to come. Over the last five years, I have simply fallen in love with LES! I have poured my heart and soul into SCS the last 20 years!! I know this next journey just might be my most important one yet! I pray I am up for the challenge and I will work every day to prove that I am!

“God placed a love for kids and education in my heart so many years ago!! That love has been shaped and formed and grown by the countless colleagues, mentors, and students I have had over the years!! Each moment over the last 20 years has led to this moment!!

“As things change, one thing never will…my commitment and love to the staff and faculty and students of LES! I am honored for the opportunity to lead and to serve the students, families, and community of LES!

“Thank you for the outpouring of love and support!! It has blessed me in ways you can’t imagine! Thank you for believing in me!

“I am my ancestors’ wildest dream, and I thank God for giving me this opportunity!”
