On Dec. 17, 55 Logan County High School students participated in the annual FFA GreenHand Ceremony. This honor is only acquired by students that have accomplished 7 tasks. They must be enrolled in an agricultural class, learn and explain the creed, motto, and mission statement, know and describe the legendary FFA emblem, demonstrate knowledge of the FFA code of ethics, know the history of the organization, own the FFA official handbook, and lastly submit a written an application for the Greenhand Degree.
After accomplishing all these tasks, the students were greeted by Brian Chism, the Kentucky FFA state president, who shared his Greenhand memories and told all the possibilities that can come ahead. These freshmen are now starting their journey into the third largest chapter in the great state of Kentucky. As the years continue, people will see these select few help improve the community that raised them.
