Three big events are planned in the next few days by Concerned Citizens of Russellville/Logan County.
The first is a fish fry followed by Friday Night Praise this Friday, May 30, at the KP Hall at 428 East Fifth Street in Russellville where the Concerned Citizens headquarters is located. The fish fry will begin at 4 p.m., followed by the song service at 7.
The special guests will be the Rev. Eddie Brown and St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Guthrie.
Then on Saturday, the following day, Concerned Citizens will hold an Adult/Youth Fashion Show. Sarah Tuck & Friends of Franklin will lend a helping hand to those in the community who are in need. Several models from Franklin and other surrounding towns are participating in the talent show, which begins at 7 p.m.
Tickets at the door will be $10. A fish or chicken meal will be provided. Modern Woodmen of America will match up to $1,250 raised. This event, too, will be at the KP Hall.
Then next Tuesday, June 3, a New Socks Giveaway will be held at the KP Hall from 8 a.m.-noon. This is for those in need. Socks will be available in all sizes for men, women and children.
Executive Director Doris Vick calls the free socks “another blessing for our community.”
