The 2014 Show of Bands is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 13, at Historic Rhea Stadium. The event is hosted by Russellville High School and will feature several Class AA, Class AAA, and Class AAAA schools from around the area, including Butler County, Todd County, Franklin-Simpson, Allen County-Scottsville, Hart County, John Hardin, Logan County, and Hopkinsville.

Band students spend many weeks rehearsing and preparing for this KMEA-sanctioned marching band contest, to which the general public is invited. The National Anthem will be played at 5:30 p.m., with senior recognition at 5:45 p.m. The Show officially begins at 6:30 p.m., but spectators are encouraged to arrive early to allow for parking and not to disrupt the bands once the performances begin.

Admission is $5 per person, and concessions will be available.

Brian Brown is the RHS band director. Jada Morris is field commander of the Marching Panthers. She is shown in the accompanying picture leading RHS Marching Panthers in the National Anthem prior to the Trigg County game.

In the other photo, Russellville Junior/Senior High School students Drew Oberhausen, Blake Clark, Brandon Lawson, Haleigh Elliott, Hunter Moneypenney, Dillion Portor, Logan Long, and Kyran Williams perform at halftime during the Trigg County game.
