All-female cast to present Steel Magnolias

The play Steel Magnolias, written by Robert Harling, directed by Darlene Gooch, and presented by The Lady in Red Players, will be staged at the Historic Logan County Courthouse located at the corner of 4th and Winter Streets in Russellville, on October 23 and 25.

For the Friday night showing, dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., and the show will begin at 7. There will be another showing on Sunday, Oct. 25, with lunch to be served at 12:30 p.m. and the show to begin at 2 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Oct. 12 and can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce, Riley-White Drugs, and the 4th Street Theater. The price is $20 for the meal and the play combined, or $8 for the play only. (Dinner/lunch will be chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetable, bread, dessert and drink.)

Seating is limited. (Each showing will have 120 seats available for the dinner & play combo, and another 100 play-only tickets.)

The cast includes Vickie Costello as Truvy, Amanda Wilson as Annelle, Melanie Manley as M'Lynn, Lydia Manley as Shelby, Donna Wilkerson as Clairee, and Joanne DeArmond as Ouiser.
