Adam Hendricks of Auburn and Ben Furnish of Cynthiana have been selected by the Kentucky Soybean Association to represent the Commonwealth as its 2016 American Soybean Association DuPont Young Leaders, according to the Soybean Sentinel.
This is a national program that allows young soybean farmers from around the nation to gather for a challenging leadership experience, offering the opportunity for participants to enhance their leadership skills as well as meet and learn from other young leaders.
“The Young Leader Program is intense, and participants learn so much, it’s a really big deal to be selected,” said KSA President Mike Burchett.
The American Soybean Association DuPont Young Leader Program is unique among the leadership opportunities that exist for soybean growers as it is designed for both spouses. Husbands and wives attend sessions together so that they both understand the importance of helping to shape national policy, and both have the tools to do so. Participants learn techniques and skills they wouldn’t get anywhere else.
A graduate of Logan County High School, Adam holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Ag Business from Western Kentucky University. He worked as an agronomist and crop consultant for Wheat Tech prior to turning his attention to farming full time. He is also a Certified Crop Advisor.
Adam’s wife, Lindsey, is a stay-at-home mom to their daughter Aubrey and son Isaac. She studied Marketing at Western Kentucky University.
