Once again this year, the Russellville Jr./Sr. High School lobby and the Jim Young Gymnasium were transformed into a lovely Banquet Hall on Monday, Oct. 24, as the Kentucky School Boards Association held its Third Region Meeting.

This year we saw for the first time, under the direction of Lt. Col. Mike Triplett, the Presentation of Colors, by the Panther Platoon of JROTC:  Commander - Cadet Bree Lewis, carrying the State Flag - Cadet Kaleigh Hughes, carrying the Army Flag - Cadet Devon Barnes, Rifle Team - Cadet Dakota Cornelius and Cadet Kaylee Creek.

An Ensemble of RJSHS students under the direction of Larry Vaught, sang My Old Kentucky Home and the National Anthem. Ensemble students were Zach Baker, Addie Cundiff, Ashlee Gilbert, Katie Ray Holloman, Carson Kash, Emma McReynolds, Addie Mosier, Laura Mullen, Ethan Paddock, Katie Paul, Rian Saul, MyDuyen Tran, and Jennifer Wilkerson.

Russellville High School Ambassadors made everyone welcome.

Russellville School Board Member Davonna Page, the Third Region Chairperson, welcomed those attending and introduced legislators and Special quests.  Superintendent Leon Smith delivered the invocation, and all enjoyed a delicious meal catered by Sweet Temptations from Bowling Green with the help of Mrs. Ashley McGinnis’ Panther Caterers

The KSBA Officers and Staff shared announcements and updates, Davonna Page presented closing remarks, thanking all who attended, and the meeting was adjourned.

The Third Region counties are Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Grayson, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson, Todd, and Warren along with independent districts Bowling Green, Caverna, Glasgow and Russellville.
