Whether you are just out of high school and looking for your next great adventure, currently attending college but not really loving your direction, or an adult tired of the same-ole-same-ole, it’s always an adventure to visit Nossi to see where a creative career in photography, videography, interactive graphic design or illustration can take you.
On Friday, March 2, Russellville High School students experienced a Nossi field trip. They were able to learn from and work with real professionals because classes are taught by creative professionals active in their current career - not just professors who only teach.
Nossi Vatandoost, an artist listed in Who’s Who of American Women as well as Who’s Who in America, trained in the Middle East and Europe, taught art in Metro Nashville Schools before opening Nossi College of Art. The first classes included painting, airbrush, and photography courses in Madison, Tenn.
Over the next 18 years, Nossi added new programs, hired creative professionals for faculty, and received accreditation from the Accrediting Commissions of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). In 1991, Nossi College of Art was born. The College received accreditation first in graphic design, followed by photography, illustration, video & film, and interactive & web design.
“We are always focused on reinvesting in our students,” Nossi said. The College achieves this by incorporating strong curriculums for each program, paired with adjunct faculty members who are industry professionals.
The following RJSHS students were able to attend the field trip: Brianna Bellamy, Laskysha Bigbee, Kaleigh Epley, Bryant Garcia, Aracely Gomez, James Green, Mary Ann Hamilton, Katie Ray Holloman, Zach Hopkins, Ethan Howard, Kylie LaPack, Sierra Lamb, Jacob Lyne, Trenton Mathews, Daydream Moore, Tristan Payne, Jenny Ramsey, Tabien Richardson, Kim Ross, Hayle Sharp, Meagan Simpson, Lindsey Tanner, and Jaymie Waller.
Middle School GT/Media Arts students attending were: Brandyl Westbrook, Madison Cardwell, Jack Smith, Josiah Westbrook, Jarred Wright, and Yovanni Lopez.
