Several members of the Logan County High School Concert Band traveled to Western Kentucky University on Jan. 11 to perform in the Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA) Third District Band Directors Association All-District Band. The annual event, held at Van Meter Auditorium, serves as an honor for the selected band members and entertainment for the community.

This year, LCHS had these 13 students chosen for the honor:

Rylee Hobbs- flute, Joshua Lawrence- trumpet, Jesse Buchanan- tuba, Laren Hines- euphonium, Penelope Coles- euphonium, Evan Dana- euphonium, Mariah Perdue- clarinet, Amber Hershberger- clarinet, Carlos Gonzalez- clarinet, Mary Mayhugh- flute, Grace Richardson- clarinet, Brianna Brooks- clarinet, and Ashlynn Canler- Percussion.

The Kentucky Music Educators Association is an organization consisting of over 2,000 professional music educators at all levels from kindergarten to the university level who are dedicated to the cause of music education in Kentucky. Associated with the National Association for Music Education, KMEA serves as a voice for Kentucky’s music educators.
