The Logan County High School chapter of the Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) held its second annual “Day of Service” on Dec. 6. The event sought to provide club members opportunities for public service in their local community. Their ambitious schedule saw three groups of club members work at four different Logan County locations: Life Choice, Logan County Humane Society, Creekwood Nursing Home, and Good Samaritan.

At Life Choice, the first group of FCCLA members helped assemble a baby swing and a Pack and Play, organized clothes, and cleaned the facility. The Humane Society provided members of the second group opportunities to walk dogs and play with cats. Members of this group also helped clean the boarding facility and food shed. Singing Christmas carols and playing games with residents were part of the third group’s visit to the Creekwood Nursing Home. The highlight of this visit was being provided opportunities to talk with residents, which proved to be both entertaining and informative. While at Good Samaritan, the fourth group of FCCLA members unloaded a food truck, organized food, and made bags of food for individuals in need of help.

FCCLA members who participated in the Day of Service are as follows: Brissa Jones, Gracie Henderson, Breanna Greenwood, Dory Scott, Lexy Sisk, Kaylan Vaughn, Xadriuanna Vaughn, Briana Shelton, Emma Jenkins, Haley Manning, Ashylnn Wetton, Alexis Wehmeyer, Taylor Sweetsir, Haylee Hyams, Autumn Ashby, Abby-Grace Forbes, Sydda Ross, Katelyn Markland, Deanna Slagle, Savannah Hayes, Alexis Drake, Maitilyn Cassetty, Hope Cassetty, Lily Pearson, Chloe Newman, Fayden Beadnell, Sydnee Claypool, Bailey Wright, Ashtyn Cole, Madison Roberts, Lori Johnson, Remi Stone, Camila Arevelo, Emily Anderson, Angelica Diaz, Ella Moore, Erin Embry, Mackinzi Cross, and Alexis Wilson.
