In view of Library Appreciation Week, I would like to send my praises to our very fine Logan
County Public Library. I am always very impressed with the staff! I find them friendly, efficient
and extremely helpful. I feel my family is genuinely cared about and that means a lot to me! I
have children ranging in the ages of 13, 10, 8, 5 and 2 years. We are constantly at the library!
Story time is a big hit! (especially, the balloons!) I like having access to lots of information
which the library excels at. The inter-library loan is a good example of this. My children have
been entertained by the shows provided (the Animal Show last fall was fabulous) as well as bimonthly movies, their summer reading program, live, fun
music, their computers, music and
dvd collection. I am always delightfully impressed....keep up the Great Job!

The library is important to me because I am homeschooled. Whenever I need encyclopedias or
history books, the library has what I need. Their computer and internet access allows me to
research history, and I like to play games while I am on the computer. Recently I have started
volunteering as a Leader in Training, which has taught me some responsibility and given me the
chance to interact with other volunteers.

Having a local public library has made it possible for my sons to grow up with an abundance of
books and resources that we may not have been able to otherwise afford. Therefore they have
developed a strong love for reading. In 2005 we decided to home-school our sons and without
the library a quality education would not have been possible. Also without the library, I would
not have been able to study and prepare for my GED. I'm so very thankful to have our library.
Recently my sons have become volunteers to give back to the library, which has given so much to us. Thank you Logan County Public Library, staff and
friends.

I wish to tell everyone at the library how much I appreciate their help. I am a fellow resident of Logan County, and I visit the library quite
frequently as does my son. Every time that I have had a problem locating anything or obtaining any kind of information, they are quick to assist me in
collecting the information or the resources that I might need. My son loves to come to the library to play, listen to the staff tell stories, play on
the kids' learning computer, and just hang out with all the kids in the reading room.
Thank you, Logan County Library Staff, for making our community better and assisting all the people that I am sure you assist every day. I know that
you all have been lifesavers for me on many occasions and for that I am grateful. Thank you for the continued service and sunshiny
demeanor that you all show on day to day basis.

To all Logan County librarian associates: Ya'll are great and very helpful in every way. You may
not know it ,but you have changed my and my son's lives. Every day he uses the kiddy computer, and he is doing better in everyday life. The library is
very clean and always smells great. Thanks for the books and the kids' recreation room, too, with kids' fun time. The library is a fantastic place with
great staff members that are willing to help out in almost every situation that they can handle. We all wish we would just not settle for this library
when there is a bigger and better one to be built, so we ask everyone to donate to help yourself and your community out. Thanks for your support.

For many years, I've enjoyed the library. I am a sixth grade student. One of my favorite things to check out from the library is comic books. They have
a huge selection. I love to check out the two day movies and, they give me and my brother something to do on our lazy Sundays. Because of the library
my art work was displayed and I got $300 from selling paintings. Thank you, library!

The Logan County Public Library has been a huge asset to me for several years now in both my
personal and business life. I am a mother of two and a CSA for LifeSkills, and I must say I do not
know where I would be without the library! I have spent countless hours there teaching the
people I support several things, whether it be volunteering their time to be out in the public
more, printing pictures to color, reading to them, playing games, or just a place to relax and
look at magazines. It has become their favorite place to go. The library has become a second
home to a lot of them, a place where they know they will be safe and will see a smiling face,
and a place where they can make friends.
On that note I must give huge kudos to the library staff! They are always very friendly and
eager to help with any questions you may have. I believe they go above and beyond what their
job descriptions intend for them to do, which is such a blessing these days. They are very
knowledgeable, and if they do not know the answer will work hard to find it. The programs they
offer are great, for both adults and children. I think everyone should bring their child at least
once for story time, but I must tell once you and your child have been once, you will be
requesting the monthly calendar so you can keep up with the schedule. The DVD selections,
books, and CD's are great, and once again if they do not have it, they will work to get it for you if at all possible.
In addition to how my personal life goes and my relationship with the library, it has played a
huge role in my daughter's and son's lives. My daughter loves to draw, and because of the library was able to display her artwork and sell over $200's
worth of her artwork. Because of this her confidence in her art ability grew so much. She now has aspirations to continue her work, and go to college
to further a career in artwork. I started reading to my son at a very young age and never ran out of reading material because I would stock up on the
children's library books weekly and have hours of reading fun with him. He is now in kindergarten and one of the best readers in his class!
Logan County is very lucky to have such an amazing library; it is wonderful for our public! I am
excited to see the growth that happens throughout the month, and I believe everyone should
come together to support our local library!
School librarian Carole Sindorf concludes:
More space! More parking! What a joy that our community realizes the benefits our library
offers and wants a new facility that can improve on this great resource.
Our library is the center for learning for all of our citizens. As our information needs have
Changed, our library has continued to make changes in technology, materials and facilities to
meet those needs. Linda Kompanik and her staff have created an environment that allows a
diverse population to locate, access and use materials not only for pleasure but also for the
health, business, educational and cultural needs of our community. It is a foundation for
teaching our children the joy of reading and providing help with homework. I applaud the work
of the Logan County Library Board to build a facility that will reflect our commitment to literacy
in Logan County.
