The Logan County Extension Complex was packed with people, most of them elementary students, on Tuesday, Sept. 18. They were there to attend the annual Progressive Agriculture Safety Day!
Students from all around Logan County learned the importance of proper farm safety from adult volunteers around the community and also the Logan County FFA members. The day consisted of students splitting up into 12 groups. Each group would travel to different stations where there would be volunteer addressing a safety topic. ATV Safety, fire safety, tractor safety, fire prevention, drug and alcohol safety, and many more topics were discussed that day. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and get involved with the hands on activities at each station.
Lunch was provided that day by the Cattlemen’s Association and towards the end of the day There was a mock rescue put on for students to see the importance of safety on the farm!y farm
Safety Day was a success, and hopefully the elementary students will remember some of the tips they were taught to keep them safe!
