On Wednesday, April 1, from 8:30-11:30 a.m., Russellville Jr/Sr High School hosted its annual Operation Preparation event for the 8th and 10th grade students.
The goal of Operation Preparation is to expose our students to different careers and to assist them to make better informed decisions regarding their own potential educational and career pathways.
This year’s event involved 39 individuals from our community and 17 differing career categories from which our students could choose. Small groups of students listened as each participant shared details about their chosen careers, and the career planning that was involved in obtaining their goals. There were 76 eighth graders and 83 tenth graders participating.
Examples of careers specifically showcased were Education, Social and Human Services, Communication and Info Technology, Health Services, Public Services, Manufacturing, Business and Marketing, Transportation, Arts and Humanities, Construction, Science and Math, and Agriculture.
We are so grateful for those talented volunteers that took their valuable time to invest in the lives of our students and provide positive influences for them.
Thank you to the staff at RJHS for all the planning and work that benefit our students, not just on these special events but also on a daily basis.
