Adairville School could not ask for more supportive parents. This year, the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) organized a playground cleanup day. Over 40 parents, students, and staff helped paint the playground equipment and spruce up the playground area.
Students now have a new fresh take on their playground, from the freshly painted swing sets to the new basketball nets. In addition to the facelift and fresh coat of paint, the PTO purchased and is now providing students with hula-hoops, jump ropes, and soccer balls to enjoy during their recess time.
In an effort to garner more community involvement, Adairville has started a new volunteer program. Several parents/grandparents, etc. are giving their time to come to the school and work with students. Volunteers can be found throughout the school reading with students, helping them with assignments, and providing an extra hand for the teachers. It is one of the new missions of the school to encourage all of our Adairville parents to volunteer.
Volunteers can set the day and time that works for their schedules, enabling both the school to benefit from the extra help as well as parents to work within a flexible schedule. The process to become a volunteer is simple. It all starts with a call to the school at 270-539-7711, and from there, parents will be directed to the formal process of getting signed up to volunteer. The school hopes that all who have a free minute can become involved in this innovate and collaborative effort.
On October 20 and October 23, Adairville hosted its annual parent-teacher conferences. The event spawned a tremendous turnout, and there was a consensus among all involved that it was wonderful meeting with all of the families of students.
Adairville was highly thankful for all of their families for working so hard to support their children in their education, and expressed just how critical keeping open dialogue between school and home is to creating the best possible opportunities for student success.
