I have the privilege to serve Logan/Todd Regional Water Commission as its attorney. Recently LTRWC entered into an agreement to welcome on board the City of Springfield, Tenn., as the 13th member, joining Todd County Water District, City of Elkton, City of Trenton, City of Guthrie, East Logan Water District, North Logan Water District, South Logan Water Association, City of Lewisburg, City of Auburn, City of Adairville, City of Russellville, and our good friends in Oak Grove (Christian County).

The design phase is almost complete to run a finished water line to the City of Springfield, which will then allow LTRWC to supply potable water to well over 12,000 households in Springfield.

A special shout-out to Rep. Martha Jane King, who was instrumental in making this happen with the approval from Attorneys General in Kentucky as well as Tennessee.

Wednesday a group of engineers from the City of Springfield took a tour of the intake Pump Station along the banks of the Cumberland River in Clarksville, Ten.

Pictures shown include three 400-horsepower General Electric motors which pump raw water out of the Cumberland River in Clarksville to the LTRWC treatment plant in Guthrie. Also pictured are VFR's which regulate the speed of the motors.

This is regional economics at its finest.
