The RHS Marching Panther Band performed in the Logan County Band Show Saturday evening. The band was awarded with Best Percussion and Best Color guard honors, along with the 1st Place Class A trophy. Congratulations to our band students as they progress through their season this year!
The RHS FCCLA and the RHS Ambassadors will be assisting at the Stevenson Family Night Monday at Stevenson Elementary. Please be sure to check with Mrs. Ashley McGinnis and/or Mr. Brandon Blake about more details regarding this event for your group.
An important reminder for senior parents—the FAFSA can be completed this year beginning Oct. 1. This is important for financial aid and scholarships for your students. A link to the FASFA website is included below. There will be more information from the guidance office regarding this task.

This week, at Russellville Jr/Sr High School, students will be receiving Renaissance cards based on their second semester performance from the previous school year. For those who are not familiar with our Russellville Renaissance initiative, I have included information below describing our goals and mission with this idea.
The mission of the Russellville Renaissance team is to recognize, reward and reinforce student behaviors that lead to success with their education experiences. Renaissance focuses on academic success (overall student GPA), behavior that promotes and success and attendance to class. Students will be recognized and rewarded throughout the school year based on their success during each semester.
The Russellville Renaissance team, led by Coordinator Heather Osborne, is comprised of both students and staff members who work collaboratively to provide experiences and opportunities to highlight our student success in the areas identified above.
Our “Happy School Year” party is one example of a Renaissance activity that we use to recognize students from the previous year and reinforce/highlight to students what we value for our students, academically. Each year we will have a kick-off event at the beginning of the year that includes all students. Each semester, Renaissance Rallies will be held to reward those students who qualify based on grades, attendance and behavior. This year, we are including the Renaissance Cards as a way to provide more rewards and recognition for our students.
We will also hold our Fall Renaissance Rally this week on Friday afternoon. This rally will be held outdoors and will include a “fall festival” theme with inflatables, games, etc. Students who receive a Renaissance card this week will be invited to participate in this event. This rally is for members only and will include students in grades 7-12 who have met the criteria for membership based on their second semester qualification from last year. Sixth grade students and those who are new to us will be included in our Spring Rally based on this current semester. Below you will find the qualifications for the four levels of Renaissance Cards:
