We hope that everyone has been safe and warm this week. Please see the latest update regarding NTI work below.

Have a safe weekend. See everyone Monday.

NTI

The district NTI site did not have the updated information for LCHS for Tuesday's "NTI Day 2" assignments, but the site has since been updated to reflect that all students in grades 9-12 are completing the same assignments going forward.

NTI Days 3 and 4 should be completed for Thursday and Friday this week. We essentially skipped the work for Day 1 because of the Eclipse Day.

When we return Monday, the assignments will be collected by the students' respective English and Math teachers to record for a grade. Students who did not complete the assignments due to not having internet access will be able to complete the assignments within three days.

Again, students should complete assignments for Days 2-4 to account for the NTI days (understanding that students may have completed different assignments for Day 2 depending on when they checked the website).

Calendar update

The board of education voted last night to amend this year’s calendar due to the days missed. The LCHS Data Day for teachers scheduled for Monday, April 23 will now be an attendance day for all county students, including those at LCHS.

ACT talk

We are planning to meet with the juniors during Cats time next Friday to discuss the upcoming ACT (Tuesday, March 20). Class representatives will work together to set their goal for the exam. We will then communicate the goal with all stakeholders.

Early Release Friday

Next Friday (Jan. 26) is an early release day. LCHS will dismiss at 1 p.m. that day, so we will not have fourth block/seventh and eighth periods that day.

District basketball games

If you are looking to get out of the house this evening, our girls and boys play Franklin-Simpson at home tonight beginning at 6 p.m. The maintenance staff and the high school custodians have done a great job getting the parking lot and sidewalks relatively clear, but please be careful nonetheless.
