LCHS Principal's Report for Aug. 24

We would like to thank the community and business volunteers who spent Wednesday with our seniors providing them information about becoming "Work/Life Ready" after high school. Our goal is to prepare all of our students for their next steps, and our community plays a major role in that initiative. 

Progress reports

The mid-point of the first quarter is Monday, and students will receive progress reports Tuesday. Just a reminder that you can check the Infinite Campus Parent Portal any time for grade, attendance, and behavior information. If you need help with the system, please contact Misty Latham at 270.726.8454. 

Extended School Services (ESS)

Students who would like extra assistance with classroom assignments, homework, etc. are encouraged to stay Tuesday and/or Thursday afternoons from 3:10-4:10. Teachers from each core content are available to provide assistance during this time.

Student Ambassadors (from Jama Richardson) 

Applications to be a 10th-12th grade LC Ambassador are due to Ms. Jama by Friday, Aug. 31 at 3 p.m. They are available in the front office and in the YSC room.   

SBDM Council parent election (repeat info) 

Per KRS 160.345, LCHS parents will need to elect a minority parent member to the SBDM Council for the 2018-19 school year to comply with minority representation requirements. 

The vacancy is open to any minority parent/guardian/etc. who currently has a child attending LCHS. If you would like to nominate someone or yourself or need more details, please see the attachment. The nominations are due to Mr. David Dayton by Friday, Aug. 31 at 3 p.m. 

The subsequent election of a minority parent member will be Wednesday, Sept. 5 in the front office from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Parents will also be able to vote that day by emailing Mr. Dayton (david.dayton@logan.kyschools.us).
