Russellville Independent School District is aware of misinformation on social media about our buildings not having heat. All RISD school buildings have heat. In large buildings, cooler areas are to be expected, especially near exterior doorways in such extreme temperatures.
While heating units are functioning, we can confirm there was one heating unit that malfunctioned in the RHS band room. Our maintenance team has been working diligently to remedy this problem.
“It is important to remember that we may be providing a warmer environment than some situations our students live in at home.” said Superintendent Kyle Estes. “We have and will continue to make arrangements in the few areas that do not provide adequate heat and relocate students as needed.”
