Russellville schools going to NTI schedule
Gov. Andy Beshear issued an executive order on Wednesday, Nov. 18. Kentucky and by KRS Chapter 39A, do hereby Order and Direct as follows:
- All public and private elementary, middle, and high schools (kindergarten through grade 12) shall cease in-person instruction and transition to remote or virtual instruction beginning November 23, 2020.
- All middle and high schools (grades 6 through 12) shall remain in remote or virtual instruction and not resume in-person instruction prior to January 4, 2021.
- For the period from Dec. 7, 2020 to Jan. 4, 2021, all elementary schools (kindergarten through grade 5) may reopen for in-person instruction, provided:
- The School is not located in a Red Zone County, as provided by the Kentucky Department for Public Health on the COVID-19 website. (available at https://govstatus.egov.com/kycovid19); and
- The school follows all expectations in the KDE Healthy at School Guidance on Safety Expectations and Best Practices for Kentucky Schools (available at https://govstatus.egov.com/ky-healthy-at-school) .
Russellville Independent Schools in compliance with Governor Beshear’s Executive Order has announced:
Russellville Primary Academy and Stevenson Elementary will be on NTI schedule starting Monday, Nov. 23. As directed by Executive Order if Logan County is in Red status on December 3 and we cannot return to school on Dec. 7, Russellville Primary and Stevenson Elementary would remain on NTI schedule until Jan. 4, 2021. Russellville Primary Academy and Stevenson Elementary would return to in person instruction on Jan. 4, 2021.
Russellville Middle/High School will be on NTI schedule until Jan. 4, 2021 per Executive Order. Russellville Middle/High School will return on the hybrid A/B schedule on Jan. 4 and remain hybrid until Jan. 15 at which time decisions will be made to determine the future schedule.
All staff will report to respective schools on Nov. 23 from 8 – 4 unless building principal/supervisor makes adjustments. Building principals will provide the guidelines for your work setting.
Meal delivery will begin on Monday, Nov. 23 for all students who are currently being transported by bus or have signed up on the VLA list. Buses will start loading at 9 a.m. at Russellville High School and 9:15 at Stevenson Elementary. (The purpose of using BOTH cafeterias is to limit the possibility of all cafeteria staff being quarantined in case we have an incident at any one school.)
Since we are on the Summer Feeding Program, we will deliver meals to all students who are currently transported and do not need to sign up. VLA students who are signed up will also receive meals. Any Virtual Academy Student who is not signed up may do so on our website.
These are difficult times for all. I want to thank the staff for your efforts during this time. It will take all of us working together to serve the children of our community. Should you have further questions, speak with your building principal or supervisor for clarification.
I understand that many families and children will be impacted but we have no option but to enact the Executive Order by the Governor.
