Hundreds of families select gifts in 'A Christmas to Remember" with more Saturday

Long lines of parents waiting to select gifts for their children Friday appear to have gone a long way to make Concerned Citizens of Logan County Executive Director Dorris Vick's prediction that up a 1,000 families will be served this weekend.

She estimates that from 400 to 500 parents were able to select free gifts for children during a four-hour span on Dec. 4.

With the help of Feed The Children, Feeding America, Wal-Mart Corporation, Goods 360 and A local Restaurant (Ski Daddy’s), Concerned Citizens is sponsoring  “A December to Remember” On Saturday, Dec. 5, the children will come and shop for gifts for their parents from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.

"We are just trying to make Christmas a little brighter for both the children and their parents who might not otherwise have a Christmas," Vick said. "The event will take place at 428 East 5 St., Russellville. We will practice safety by requiring mask, six feet apart and the event will be held outdoors. So, dress accordingly."
