The Kentucky Agriculture Disaster Relief Program has been working with Kentucky Farm Bureau and the Kentucky Department of Agriculture to help Kentucky farmers during the aftermath of recent natural disasters in Western and Central Kentucky.
The program gives eligible farmers up to $1,500 for agriculture-related supplies if purchased from a participating store. Southern States – Russellville Cooperative in Russellville is among the stores participating in the program.
“The devastation caused by the storms in Western and Central Kentucky at the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022 has been heartbreaking for thousands of Kentuckians. We know this includes many members of our agriculture community, and we are hopeful that this program continues to help farmers in need,” says Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles.
“We encourage any eligible farmer that hasn’t taken part in this program to do so, as it’s intended to help them get through these difficult times.”
Eligible farmers have to certify they have farm property in one of the counties affected by the storms on December 10-11, 2021 or January 1, 2022 and that they experienced damage caused by the storms.
