Nine new RNs graduate from SKYCTC

Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) honored 60 Registered Nursing students from their Bowling Green Campus at their annual nursing pinning ceremony in December. at the Cave City Convention Center. The ceremony marks the RN student’s completion of their Nursing associate in applied science degree.

“Nursing school is incredibly demanding, and only those who have experienced it can truly understand the level of commitment required,” said Dr. Angie Harlan, Dean of Allied Health and Nursing at SKYCTC. “These graduates have shown that they possess the qualities, dedication, and passion to excel in one of the most highly regarded ethical professions in the United States.”

RN students honored in this year’s ceremony from Logan County were Connie Anderson, Michelle (Meia) Bates, Candace Bray (Smith), Makenzie Forrest, Ashley Garrie, Chesney Houchin, Brayden Lee, Kimberly Miller, Heather (Shadwell) Robertson.

Two of them were award winners. They were Mia Bates and Brayden Lee.

  • Med Center Health Excellence in Nursing Award - Med Center Health - Jamie Wease
  • Med Center Health Mission/Vision/Values Award - Medical Center Health - Adiel Vasquez
  • Dr. Frist Commitment to Patient Excellence Award - TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital - Heather Robertson
  • Mollie Carmon Obstetrical Award - Mia Bates
  • Mental Health Award - Olivia Thomas
  • Signature HealthCARE of BG Commitment to Care Award - Signature HealthCARE of Bowling Green - Brayden Lee
  • Village Manor Excellence in Geriatrics Award - Christian Health Care/Village Manor - Bill Ludwig
  • Dr. Jimmy T. Isenberg Nursing Award – Hannah Pennington
  • Perfect Attendance Award - Kaylyn Hale, Sydney Passmore, Shannon Smith, Anna Whiles
