Adairville School held its 8th grade graduation ceremony on Sunday, May 18, at 6 p.m., marking a meaningful milestone for 31 students in a dignified event attended by family, friends, staff, and community members.
The evening began with a warm welcome and commencement remarks from student leaders Britten Wetton and Kaliha Witherspoon, setting the tone for a memorable celebration. Daniel Brown followed by leading the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag. A touching timelapse slideshow captured the students’ journey and growth through the years, offering a heartfelt look back at their time at Adairville.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Jessie L. Richards Memorial Scholarship, awarded to former Adairville student and 2025 Logan County High School graduate Jayron Jefferson, son of LaJo Jefferson.
Eighth grade sponsors Ms. Tina Baker and Mrs. Laura Thompson led the presentation of awards, recognizing students for their academic achievements over their middle school years. The President’s Award for Academic Achievement, given to those maintaining a 90 percent or higher average throughout 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, was awarded to:

Among the most distinguished honors of the evening were the academic recognitions for the top two students in the class. Brexley Moss, daughter of Brad and Rebecca Moss, was named Salutatorian with an outstanding average of 97.5. In her Salutatorian Address, she fondly reflected on cherished memories and celebrated the class's accomplishments.
Tucker Stratton, son of Jason and Lauren Stratton, earned the title of Valedictorian with the highest average of 97.6. His Valedictory Address offered encouragement and guidance for the road ahead.
Dr. Dan Costellow, Superintendent of Logan County Schools, presented diplomas to the graduates, recognizing their successful completion of the elementary course of study as defined by the Logan County Board of Education. Mr. Kyle Wetton, Adairville Board member, personally congratulated each graduate.
Principal Lori Bouldin offered a heartfelt closing speech, reminding students to maintain high standards and remain grounded in strong habits as they continue their educational journey. In a moving moment, the graduates recited the Adairville School motto, “Success Starts Now!” one final time.
The ceremony concluded with a benediction by student leader Levi Robey, who shared final words of encouragement and well-wishes. As tassels turned and caps flew, the Class of 2025 celebrated the close of one chapter and the beginning of another with much joy, pride, and anticipation for what lies ahead.
