The Logan County Republican Women's Club meeting will be Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., at GOP Headquarters on Carrico Park Square in Russellville.
Special guest speaker will be conservative Republican candidate, Matt Bevin, and his field rep, Katie Moyer, who will speak about his campaign for U.S. Senator. His opponent is long-time incumbent Senator Mitch McConnell. McConnell’s representative has been invited, but at last report local leaders had not heard whether she is coming or not. A question and answer time has been allotted for Bevin.
Also, local candidates for jailer, Phil Gregory and Chris Hightower, will speak briefly about their campaigns.
Republican leaders will honor veterans also this evening. Brenda Baugh will be in charge of this session with some poems she has found that are quite appropriate. Bobbie Jean Burnett has written one of her own poems to give to each of the veterans as well.
Food will be furnished by all of the club members who bring something for the occasion. For questions, call 270-726-3801, 270-726-3787, or 270-725-9100.
