The Magoffin County Hornets will be in Logan County on Saturday December 6 to support our Lady Cougars against Greenwood. There will be a Freshman game beginning at 1 p.m. with JV and Varsity games to follow.
We would like to invite the community to come out and support both teams by attending the games on Saturday.
This continues a tradition of school support which began in 2012 after a tornado touched down in Salyersville, KY during the Magoffin County Lady Hornets 15th region championship run. LCHS students supported Magoffin County in the 2012 KHSAA Girls Sweet 16 basketball tourney. Magoffin County travelled the 280 miles between Salyersville and Russellville in 2013 to repay the support. These efforts earned both schools the NFHS Spirit of Sport award at the annual NFHS summer conference in the summer of 2013. The schools have continued the tradition of support by visiting each other every year.
