Tickets for Steel Magnolias are now on sale at the Logan County Chamber of Commerce and Riley White Drugs. There will be two performances of the show at the Historic Logan County Courthouse, each with a meal option (fried chicken, veggies, drink, and dessert - catered by Colonial Inn).

For the play plus dinner, the tickets are $20; these tickets are preferred seating and must be purchased by Thursday. For the play only, the tickets are $8; these tickets will be available at the door (unless sold out). The Friday evening show will be Oct. 23, with the meal at 5:30 pm and the play at 7 p.m. The Sunday show will be on Oct. 25, with lunch at 12:30 p.m. and the play at 2 p.m.

The play is presented by The Lady in Red Players, directed by Darlene Gooch. The cast includes Melanie Manley as M'Lynn; her real-life daughter, Lydia Manley, at Shelby; Vickie Costello as Truvy, Amanda Seidler Wilson at Annelle; Donna Wilkerson at Clairee; and JoAnn DeArmond as Ouiser.

Steel Magnolias was written by Robert Harling and is based on the true story of his sister, Susan. The play, which is set entirely in Truvy’s beauty shop in Chinquapin Parish, La., debuted off-Broadway in New York City in 1987. It was adapted into a motion picture in 1989 and a Lifetime television movie in 2012.
