2016 Football Homecoming
Congratulations to the Russellville High School Football team on another impressive victory during our homecoming festivities. The Panthers are still undefeated and host Crittenden County (District game) this week.
We had a busy week leading up to Friday night with several students participating in our theme days and with our hall decorating contest. The 6th graders and the Seniors were the official winners of the hallway contest for homecoming week!
A huge thanks to Mrs. Juli Link and Mrs. Heather Osborne for all of the work that went into such a fun-filled week at RJSHS. Several pictures, courtesy of Mrs. Penni Nugent, are available on our school Facebook page.
Congratulations to the following students:

King---Mr. Johnny (JD) Drumgole (SR)
Princess---Ms. Emma McReynolds (Jr)
Prince---Mr. Jacob Naylor (So)
We wrapped the week up with a homecoming dance, sponsored by the RHS Cheer Team, in the gym! A special thanks to our cheerleaders, coaches, cheer parents and Mr. Robbie McLellan for providing a night of great tunes!
RMS Football
The RMS football team won another play-off game this weekend by outscoring the Edmonson County Wildcats! This brings their playoff record to 2-0!
The team will be traveling back to Edmonson County this Saturday to Edmonson County to play Owensboro Catholic at noon for the regional championship. Good luck to our middle school football team and we hope you keep it going to state this year!!
RHS Marching Panthers
The Panther Band was in action this weekend at Hopkinsville. The band made it to the finals and placed 8th overall for the day out of all bands. The RHS Band members will return to Hopkinsville this Saturday to participate in the regional competition. Performance is scheduled for 8:15! I have no doubts that they will be awesome and qualify for the state competition the following weekend!
Good luck to our Marching Panthers on your way to state!!
Senior Information
There will be a FAFSA workshop held at our school on Friday, Oct. 21. This will take place in the RHS Library from 8:00-2:00. Staff members from KHEAA and Educational Talent Search will be here to assist with this process.
Students will need their parents’ tax forms from this past year to complete this process. Parents are also welcome to join their students for this event. Please sign in at the front office and ask for your student to join you in the library. There will be other scheduled days for this event if this Friday is not convenient for you. More information about the FAFSA can be found below.
The FAFSA, officially known as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, is the form that families fill out to apply for federal grants, loans, and work-study funds for college students. It is administered by the U.S. Department of Education, which provides more than $150 billion in student aid each year.
Your eligibility for federal grants (which don’t have to be repaid) and federal loans (which do) will generally be based on your financial need, as determined by the information you supply on your FAFSA. You can get a preview of whether the FAFSA is likely to qualify you for federal grants by using the FAFSA4caster on the Department of Education website.
