Welcome Back!

Russellville Independent Schools will return to normal operating hours on Tuesday, 1/2/18.

New College Coach

Russellville High School is proud to announce, in conjunction with AmeriCorps, the hiring of Cassady Wilson as the new College Coach for RHS. Ms. Wilson will be working with students in grades 9-12 with a primary focus of providing students with individualized assistance with next-step planning for life after high school.

Ms. Wilson will be a full time asset to RHS and is a recent graduate of Murray State. She majored in animal science with a minor in organizational communication. During her time in college, Ms. Wilson was actively involved in MSU’s agriculture and music programs. Ms. Wilson originally hails from Monroe County and brings with her a passion for developing accountability within students by shaping attitudes and enabling success through supporting student strengths. Ms. Wilson comes from a family of educators and is grateful for the opportunity to join the Russellville team. A fun fact about Ms. Wilson is that she has a passion and wealth of knowledge in the agricultural area of swine science.

Welcome, Ms. Cassady Wilson!

Heading Over to the New LCTC

Some students will be headed to a brand new building on Tuesday as the Logan Career and Technical Center opens its doors. RHS students who have been attending classes at the RATC will now be bussed to and from the new 68,000-sq. ft. LCTC where they will enjoy a state of the art facility that is the product of the joint efforts of RISD and LCS. Students from RHS will be bussed over for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd block classes at LCTC and will be able to remain for the full class-period-time for each of these blocks thanks to second semester scheduling adjustments by RJSHS Guidance Counselor Rex Booth. Utilization of the multiple career pathways and industry certifications available at LCTC is a prominent focus of the RISD.

In two weeks, On Thursday, Jan. 11, from 4-6 pm, teachers will be available at the high school for Parent-Teacher Conferences. Parents are welcome to come in and discuss student progress for the first half of the school year.
