The Logan County Lady Cougars will enter the 13th District Volleyball Tournament in a little over two weeks in a familiar position—as the heavy favorite. Coach Steven Lyne’s team is 6-0 in the district and will be the top seed in the tournament, which will be played Oct. 17 at Todd Central.
The six wins this year run the Lady Cougars’ district win streak to a 110 consecutive matches, dating back to Aug. 23, 2003. LCHS hopes to win its 15th straight district title. The Lady Cougars went 19-0 in district games.
Coach Debbie Elliott’s Russellville Lady Panthers won the all-important tiebreaker with Todd Central for the number three seed behind Logan and Franklin-Simpson. RHS and Todd split their matches this season, making them 1-5 in the district. Russellville has won six matches overall with the Lady Rebels managing just two wins.
Being in the two-three game gives RHS and F-S a much greater chance of going to region than does Todd Central, which has to play Logan.
The three matches of the tournament will all be played in one night.
