Auburn and Olmstead favored in middle school tournament

Auburn and Olmstead have earned byes in both divisions of the Logan County Middle School Basketball Tournament, which is to be played this week.

The Auburn Lady Tigers are the number one seed and Olmstead the second seed in the girls division. The Olmstead Rams are the top seed in the boys division with Auburn number two in the boys bracket.

Adairville and Lewisburg alternate at the three and four spots with Chandlers number five in both. The tournament starts Thursdays evening at Logan County High School.

Thursday’s opening games match the Lewisburg and Chandlers girls and the Adairville and Chandlers boys.

Winners advance to Saturday’s semifinals against the top seeds.

This year the championship games are being played Saturday evening.
