Cut the Nets Camp offered by LCHS basketball

Logan County Basketball will host the CUT NETS Skills Development Basketball Camp June 6-8 for different age groups.

Sessions for Grades 1-7 will June 6 and June 8 from 9-10:30 a.m. Grades 8-12 will have sessions from 10:30-noon on Wednesday and Friday and from 1-3 p.m. Thursday.

The fee is $30 for Grades 1-7 and $45 for Grades 8-12.

The camp will be conducted by Quentin Hollis, a former professional basketball player for the Chinese Basketball Association (C.B.A.) and the Chinese Men’s Basketball Association (C.M.B.A.).

Hollis played Division I college basketball for Howard University under Head Coach Alfred “Butch” Beard (former NBA Champion, Golden State Warriors and University of Louisville Player) and is a mentee of Earvin “Magic” Johnson and has worked for 10+ years with his basketball camps.

He will provide each player with fundamental basketball skill developmental drills. These skills include proper passing techniques, shooting fundamentals such as: form, jump shooting, catch and shoot, shooting off the dribble and more.  Ball handling drills, lay-up basics and advance practices, as well as teamwork fundamentals including: pick and roll, pick and pop, give and go, and working to get open will also be included.  He will also work on defensive stance, footwork and form, rebounding concepts and half-court and full-court offensive and defensive basics.  All the drills provided will be age/grade level appropriate.
