Russellville left no doubt that it belongs in the 13th District finals and 4th Region Tournament with a resounding 7-1 blast over homestanding Todd Central in boys soccer Monday.
With the win, Coach Jeramy Rust’s Panthers advance to Thursday’s finals against Franklin-Simpson, also at Todd Central, beginning at 8 p.m.
The Panthers’ two offensive juggernauts, Avery Flener and Dustin Brown, each scored three goals. Flener added three assists and Brown two.
Also recording points Jeremiah Smith were with a goal and Milo Brooks and Cameron Lewis with an assist each.
Goalkeeper Nick Bollenbecker allowed the Rebels only one goal while turning away four shots on goal.
“We played our most complete game of the season,” Coach Rust said.
Franklin shut out Logan County 3-0 to reach the finals.
