Russellville Athletic Director Ryan Davenport has announced the hiring of Jonathan Hindman as the Russellville High School Head Swim Coach.

Hindman is a 2010 graduate of Russellville High School. He competed for seven years on the RHS Swim Team. In Hindman's senior year, he broke the regional record in the breast stroke and finished in fourth place in the state swim meet. He had also won the region the year before.

He came within one spot of making the NAIA national finals while competing for Lindsey Wilson college. See a collection of press releases about his success and of his RHS and LWC teammate Corey Hall in an article on The LoJo at

Coach Hindman is married to Allison Hindman and they are expecting their first child. Hindman is the son of retired Stevenson Elementary teacher Michelle Hindman and of long-time Russellville banker and farmer Stephen Hindman. He is the brother of Dr. Katherine Gilliam of Russellville.

Davenport said, “I’m very excited for our swim program and our swimmers. Coach Hindman brings a great deal of experience and knowledge to our swim program. He has coached under a Gold Olympic coach in North Carolina and he was a great swimmer here at RHS and Lindsey Wilson College. It’s great to have Jonathan Hindman back in the black and gold.
