Cameron Jackson has stepped down as Girls Basketball Coach at Russellville High School, effective Dec. 1, Principal Ben Brunit reports. Coach Jackson, who also serves as Russellville Middle School principal, will be taking a Central Office administrative position in another district beginning Jan, 1, 2021.

Jackson served as Head Girls Basketball Coach for RHS for the past two seasons (2018 - 2020) and compiled a record of 37-24 leading the Lady Panthers to back-to-back 13th District Runner-Up slots and trips to the 4th Region Tournament. Jackson led the Panthers to winning seasons in both of his years at the helm, a significant accomplishment for a program that last had a winning season in 2006-07, according to Bruni.

The Russellville Lady Panthers have advanced to the 4th Region tournament in three of the past four years and return several key players for the 2020-21 season. The 2020-21 Lady Panthers are one of the 4th Region’s more experienced and talented teams.

Russellville High School hopes to fill the now vacant head coach position by Friday. Official practice for KHSAA Winter Sports begins on Monday, Dec, 14.
