The Logan County Cougars took first place among five teams in a track meet at Muhlenberg County last week. Coach Greg Howard’s team scored 95 points,
14 above second place Greenwood. The host team, Fort Campbell and Warren East were far behind.
Taking first places were Avrey Collier in both the 100 Hurdles and 200 Dash, Sye Head in the 3200 Run, Colton Spencer in the 400 Dash, the 4 X 800
Relay team of Head, Noah Thomas, Barrett Rogers and Maurice Pheal, the 4 X 200 Relay team of Collier, Pheal, Rogers and Spencer, and the 4 X 400 Relay
team of Spencer, Rogers, Pheal and Collier. Aaron Johnson and Head added seconds.
The Lady Cougars didn’t fare as well as a team, but Howard had some girls do well individually. Taking firsts were Markita Pheal in the 400, Elaina
Hopkins in the 300 Hurdles, and the 4 X 400 Relay team of Markita Pheal, Jessica Covington, Anna Holman and Leah Thompson while Jessica Covington was
second in the 100.
