Lady Cougars to play West Jessamine again at state

Logan County Athletic Director Greg Howard says, “Congratulations go out to the LC Volleyball team and coaches on a super win Monday night in the first round of the KHSAA State Volleyball Tournament. In front of a packed house, the Lady Cougars wasted no time in proving they were a force to be reckoned with. They defeated the Lady Waves of Meade County 3-0.”

The Lady Cougars will now move on to the Elite 8 in Winchester this Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET (6:30 Logan time) at George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester, near Lexington.

Their opponent will be West Jessamine, who defeated Lexington Paul Laurence Dunbar Monday in their opening round.

These two teams played earlier this year, with West Jessamine winning a close match 2-1 in the Kentucky Challenge Tournament. The Colts (31-9) won 25-27, 25-17, 15-13. For Logan in the four sets, Kambell Porter had 22 assists, Lydia Owens 19 assists and Aubrey Sears 14 kills and 6 service aces.

The day of the event, the ticket price will be $15, fees included. Kentucky Children’s Hospital is sponsoring FREE tickets for all children 10-and-under. To receive these tickets, you must “purchase” these seats through khsaatickets.org, even though there will be no charge. 

FAN ADMISSION

All spectators must enter and exit through the admission gate, which will open one hour prior to the start of each contest. Each match is its own ticketed event and the arena will be cleared of all patrons between matches.
