No Clashes of the Cats are scheduled in the first rounds of the district soccer tournaments to be played at Todd Central next week. All four schools will be in action in both girls and boys action each of the first two days.
Girls matches will begin at 5:30. The estimated start time for boys matches is 7:15 Monday and Tuesday and 7:30 for Thursday’s championship match.
Franklin-Simpson is not only the number one seed in both divisions but is undefeated in district play. In fact, in both divisions there have been no splits. Each team which has beaten a district opponent once has also done it a second time.
The Wildcats (9-4, 6-0) are ranked fourth among boys teams in RPI in the region. Todd Central (12-3, 4-2) is rated fifth.
Franklin plays the Logan boys (4-10, 0-6) in Monday’s opening round. Todd takes on Russellville (10-9, 2-4) Tuesday.
In girls action, the Lady Kats will play Russellville (0-16, 0-6) Monday. The Lady Cougars (6-11, 4-2) are favored over Todd (4-11, 2-4) Tuesday.
Monday and Tuesday winners will move on to both the championships matches and the regional tournaments.
