Putting their highest point total of the season so far, the Logan County Lady Cougars won 60-42 over Carmi-White County of Illinois in The Hardwood Classic at Calloway County High School last Saturday.

Junior Addison Holloway led a balanced scoring attack with 17 points. She hit 5 of 6 two-point field goals, 2 of 5 three-pointers and 1 of 2 free throws.

Classmate Reese Wetton was almost perfect in her shooting. She hit an impressive 4 of 5 outing from long range and 2 of 2 two-pointers for 16 points.

Sophomore Brenley Adler couldn’t get her three-pointers to fall but she was 5 of 10 othersie and hit both of her foul shots for 12 points. In this game the three-year starter passed the 1,000-point level in career scoring even though she is just a third of the way through her 10th grade season.

Also scoring were Alissa Hampton with 8, Avery Thompson with 4, and Marlee Boisseau and Anslee Buchannan with 2 each.

Boisseau, a seventh grader, hit both her free throws. Eighth grader Caroline Owens saw varsity action. Reece Bush also played. Coach Dedra Adler sent 10 Lady Cougars into the game—two juniors, four sophomores, two freshmen, an eighth grader and a seventh grader.

Adler pulled down 9 of the winners’ 27 rebounds.

The Lady Cougars (3-4) are in action tonight at 7:15 against Clarksville Northeast in the H&H Holiday Hoopfest.
