Although they didn’t need them, two teams from Warren County scored 84 points each against teams from Logan County Tuesday.
Warren Central beat Russellville 84-64 and Bowling Green won at Logan County 84-59. Details follow.
Bowling Green built a 70-37 lead over visiting Russellville after three quarters. The 27 points the Panthers scored in the final eight minutes came much too late for Coach Phil Todd’s team to have a chance to win.
The Purples had such a balanced attack that only two players finished in double figures despite the 84 total points. Chris Porter-Bunton and Bryan Carver each scored 12 for Coach William Unseld’s team. In all a dozen Dragons scored at least four points each.
Jordan Kennedy led RHS with 23 points. Except for a two-point second quarter, he was the model of consistency with either seven or eight points in the other three. Fellow senior Josh Hampton scored 9 of his 13 points in the fourth quarter. That was the same period in which Barrett Croslin hit a pair of 3-pointers on the way to nine total points. Christian Naylor scored seven or his nine points in the third period.
The Panthers were good at the foul line, hitting 15 of 19 attempts for the game.

Logan County got off to a strong start, leading 21-16 after a quarter. But BGH sprinted to a 32-27 lead at halftime. Coach D.G. Sherrill’s team was dominant in the third period, doubling the Cougars’ output 32-16 in the third period to lead 66-43 going into the final stanza
Coach Lonnie Mason chose to get everyone involved in this game. Thirteen Cougars(everyone but the injured Adam Wilkins) played at least five minutes with eight recording double figure minutes. Sherrill was also gracious in substituting freely. All 14 Purples played, and eight of them saw double-digit action, too. Ten players from each team scored.
Ben Wright led the team with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Blue Tisdale of BGH led all scorers with 24 points and Justin Wright added 18.
