The Western Kentucky Aces 11U team participated in the Omaha Champions Village Tournament in Omaha, Neb. on June 11-16. They faced teams from Alabama, Louisiana, Utah and Texas.

After losing their first game of the tournament, the Aces won five in a row before falling in the semifinals to a good Utah Socks team.

The team played well and had a good week of baseball, which culminated with a trip to the NCAA College World Series game on Saturday. Some families attended the Mississippi State-Oregon State game while others saw the Louisville-Indiana game.

States represented in the tournament include Alabama, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, and two each from Kentucky, Utah, Texas and California.

Team members included Dalton Dean, Jaden Hayes, Braxton Meguiar, and Parker White from Logan County; Dylan Penick and Third Bell from Todd County; Eli and Zeke Hatfield from Ohio County; Isaac Humphrey from McLean County; and Mickey Meguiar, grandson of Mickey and Martha Jo Meguiar of Russellville. The young Mickey is from Asheville, N,C.  and is the son of former Russellville football and baseball standout Michael Meguiar.

The team is coached by Jason Hayes, Ethan Meguiar, and Tony Humphrey.
