The Logan County Cougars beat Todd Central 181-230 in a golf match at Rolling Hills Monday after Sara Fite led the Lady Cougars to an impressive finish in the Warren East Invitational Saturday.
In the Todd Central match, senior Cody Zibart was medalist with a 40. Wesley Estes shot 44, Kenton Howard 47, Ben Wright and Jackson Steward 50 each and Jack Wright 51. Four other Cougars played as extras with Joey Dilliha shooting 52, Matthew Hughes and John Hendricks 58 each, and Lane Barry 61.
For the girls Fite shot 43, Grace Harris 49, Maeson Hayes 54, Meredith Johnson 56 and Katlyn Odle 59. Extras McKayla Strode and Kattie Brooks shot 71 and 74, respectively.
Russellville also played in the match but Coach Nathan Thompson doesn’t have enough players to compete as a boys or girls team. Travis McDaniel shot a 55, Mallory Bush 58 and Brittany Lyne 74. Also playing were Dylan Roberts, John Carter Myers and Ellie Myers.
Logan coach Ethan Meguiar reports that Zibart played in the Marshall County Invitational over the weekend and shot an 18-hole total 81 at Calvert City Country Club.
He also notes that the Lady Cougars played in the Warren East Invitational at Paul Walker Golf Course in Bowling Green Saturday and shot 404 to finish sixth.
Fite tied for third overall with a 77. Harris shot 93, Hayes 113, Johnson 121 and Odle 129.
