Russellville Optimist Club will conduct its Tri-Star Basketball Clinic and Contest at Russellville High School’s Jim Young Gymnasium of Saturday, Jan. 4, beginning at 8:45 a.m.
Youngsters ages 8-13 will compete in age and gender groups in passing, dribbling and shooting. No fee will be charged for either the clinic or the competition. Awards will be given in each age group, and first place winners will advance to district competition.
In addition to skills, sportsmanship, healthy living and more will be taught.
Special coaches will include RHS Athletic Director Nathan Thompson, Logan County High School girls basketball coach Finley Woodard, Givin’ Back coaches Jae Allison and Gracie Mason, and former RHS Lady Panthers and Western Kentucky University Lady Topper Stacie Gamble.
In addition to the Optimist Club, sponsors include the Youth Action Team, Faith and Family, Concerned Citizens of Russellville/Logan County, and Community Education.
