It’s easy to look back and try to fathom the harsh winter the nation has endured, but the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Class-A/Tampa Bay Rays) are looking ahead. With Opening Night just weeks away, the Hot Rods will hold their inaugural Spring Rev-Up on Saturday, March 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fans can purchase season-ticket packages and mini-plans, but they can also become a member of one of the four brand new clubs at Bowling Green Ballpark.

“By now, it’s no secret that we’re bringing something different to the ballpark this season,” said Hot Rods general manager and chief operating officer, Adam Nuse. “The Spring Rev-Up event is our way of declaring winter over, and allows a chance for our fans to preview the fun they’re going to have this summer for free.”

The inaugural Spring Rev-Up will take place at Bowling Green Ballpark from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 8. Upon entry, fans can register to win a 32-inch television, courtesy of McGown Television Sales & Service. Fans can “select their seat” for the 2014 season by purchasing a season-ticket package or mini-plan, which provides savings of up to 65 percent. Fans can also ready their wardrobe for spring, as The Body Shop will be holding a special Spring Rev-Up sidewalk-clearance sale.

The all-new Junior Mechanics Club presented by Citizen’s First provides savings for parents and ensures an active and fun summer for their child. For just $20, Junior Mechanics will receive free general admission tickets to every Sunday game, and Wednesday night game, which covers 15 total games. Junior Mechanics also receive free admission to the brand new fun zone on Sundays and Wednesday nights, a free exclusive t-shirt, membership card, birthday card from the Hot Rods, an e-newsletter from Axle and Roscoe, and Junior Mechanics will run the bases first after the game on Sundays, just like their favorite Hot Rods players.

The Hot Rods are also rolling out three other brand new clubs to provide members a unique opportunity to be involved with the fun events surrounding the ballpark this summer, and all will be accepting members at the Spring Rev-Up on March 8. Fans 60 years and over are welcomed to join the Classic Cruisers. For just $35, members will receive a general admission ticket to all 10 Monday home games. One major benefit extends beyond just Monday games, as Classic Cruisers will receive free coffee at all 70 Hot Rods home game. Other benefits extend beyond the Monday home games, and they include a t-shirt, membership and birthday cards.

Ladies will have a special club of their own this summer, with the introduction of the Baseball Belles. The club is open to ladies 21 years of age or older, and features general admission tickets to all 11 Thirsty Thursday games. The Baseball Belles will receive a club v-neck shirt, wine carrier bag, invitations to VIP wine-tasting events, a membership card, monthly e-newsletter, and exclusive “baseball 101” sessions with Hot Rods staff and team.

The new beer garden at Bowling Green Ballpark is sure to be a fun attraction for the 21 and over crowd for years to come, and the introduction of the Mug Club will give those members an opportunity to take their love of adult beverages to the next level. Members receive general admission tickets to all 11 Thirsty Thursday games, a special collector’s mug, t-shirt, exclusive behind-the-scene access at select games, VIP beer tastings, a membership card, and an e-newsletter. All that for just $45.

For just $20, Junior Mechanics will save their parents over $250, as the value of the club exceeds $275. The Classic Cruisers club owns a value of $250, but the price of the entire season is just $35. The story of savings is the same for the Baseball Belles and Mug Club, as $45 will get members a package valued at $225. On average, a club membership contains 85 percent savings. While all the clubs receive a free general admission ticket to their respective game night, for just one more dollar per game, club members can upgrade to a box seat.

With winter winding down, Citizens First Opening Night at Bowling Green Ballpark is just on the horizon. It’s set for Thursday, April 3. The Hot Rods will play host to the South Bend Silver Hawks (Arizona Diamondbacks) in a four-game series that kick-starts the 2014 campaign. Season ticket packages will be available at the Spring Rev-Up, but they’re also available right now, and they offer savings of up to 65 percent. They can be secured by calling the Hot Rods at 270-901-2121, or logging on to BGHotRods.com.
