Sixth grade Cougars off to dominating start

The Cougars sixth grade team from Logan County in the Southern Kentucky Football League is off to a great start with a 2-0 record, having outscored the two opponents 66-6.

Coach Scott Porter’s team beat Butler County 27-0 and Muhlenberg County 39-6. Robbie Matthews, Mike Terry and Brian Thurston are the assistant coaches.

Quarterback Cole Porter has thrown several touchdown passes and has run for another. Wyatt Blake, Cade Johnson, Cameron Matthews, Nathan Dye, Cole Ramsey and Keaton Slaughter spend time with him in the backfield.

Among the key linemen are David Thomason, Jaxon Kenner, John Ross Terry, Cade Johnson and Jesse Buchannan.

The team plays at Butler County Saturday before meeting Russellville at 4 p.m. on Oct. 10.
