The search for the next Logan County High School head football coach continues as the school looks to replace Steve Duncan, who stepped down at the conclusion of this past season.

According to LCHS Athletic Director Greg Howard, 12 people completed applications that are on file with numerous others expressing interest in the vacant position.

A committee comprised of school administrators, the athletic director, a current high school head coach, and a member of the LCHS Cougar Foundation will meet next week to discuss the qualifications and characteristics needed for the next football coach prior to setting up interviews the following week.

“We anticipate naming our next head football coach by Dec. 18,” LCHS principal Caycee Spears said. “Our current assistant coaches have really stepped up and taken care of the offseason program and planning up to this point. We are not in a rush, but we feel confident that we will be able to find the right person to lead our program in the right direction by the time the students leave for Christmas break.”
